The Moore “Insurance” patent desk is designed to accommodate two workers and features a “clerk” section where a standing person would work from the slanted leather top writing surface with two doors having multiple open compartments and postal drawers; open section in the crest allowing papers to be easily passed between the two workers, mail slot on the right side. When opened, the interior of the desk forms a second workspace with a pullout writing surface where an “executive” would sit; the interior has two walls lined with open compartments, postal drawers, and various other drawers including a door with three faux drawer fronts for accessing the letter dropbox. Both sections have carved gallery tops with carved spire posts; the desk has deep and wide moldings and trims with corner rosettes around deep inset burled walnut panels. The desk is in excellent restored condition and ready to use.
