Very important Victorian mahogany heavily carved dining suite by R.J. Horner. This suite is magnificently carved, featuring a massive table with four elaborately detailed winged griffins resting on claw footed base. Table accommodates twelve carved chairs with carved caryatids at each arm. Each of the twelve armchairs has detailed carved female head centered on an arched crest. Table has fully skirted leaves with acanthus and scrolled details. The crested sideboard is a focal piece, with two winged griffins resting on carved plinths and flanking a beveled back mirror. The griffins hold up two glass shelves and columns supporting the wonderfully carved hood and cresting piece. Three carved drawers and cabinets below allow for ample storage. This is a significant Victorian suite by R.J. Horner, and is fully restored and re-upholstered in a lovely chenille fabric.
