A very high-grade example of the first type of the 1873 year. The Mint struck 600 proof No Arrows, Closed 3 half dollars, then stopped production and struck 550 Arrows, Open 3 halves. 1873 was a busy year at the Philadelphia Mint where 15 different minor coins were produced.
