1862 50C PR65 Cameo NGC. The numerals 1862 are delicately impressed into the die like most proof coins seen of this date but the subsequent strike is notably bold. The centers are silver and nearly untoned radiating outward to pinkish-gray magenta and iridescent blue. Superb luster emerges unimpeded by the moderate toning. The grade appears conservative as even under a loupe no mentionable distractions are apparent. Census: 3 in 65 Cameo 3 finer (12/06).
